Door Care

Wood is one of the most classic and traditional building materials thanks to its beauty, but it does require regular maintenance and care to keep it looking beautiful over time. Here are some simple steps to help take care of your wood doors so that they last for many years to come.

  1. Use a mixture of gentle dish soap and water to scrub down the door, and then dry with a paper towel. If it's a wood door with staining, use a furniture wax or polish to wipe down and give the door a beautiful, clean glow. If you have a painted front door, make sure to use a diluted cleaning product that won't strip off the color. NOTE: Never spray your wood door directly with a hose or pressure washer. This could cause damage to your wood door.
  2. Sanitize the fixtures. As you clean your door, be sure to periodically clean the fixtures as well. This means that you should take some time to thoroughly clean all door knobs. Use a gentle hand or dish soap and water to wipe down and sanitize both sides of the door knobs.
